GooFFABB's Story: A Narration of the Founder

GooFFABB is not just a business. It's a passion project that aims to inspire and nourish people with good foods, fashion, and accessories for the body and brain (GooFFABB).

The story of GooFFA began in 2018 when I was struggling with depression and stress. I felt alone and hopeless, and I didn't have anyone to support me. I tried to cope by reading, watching, and listening to motivational books, videos, and music. They helped me to survive and find some meaning in life.

I also realized that I needed to take care of my physical health, so I started to look for healthy and delicious foods that could boost my energy and mood. I also developed an interest in fashion and accessories that could make me feel more confident and attractive.

I noticed that there were not many businesses that combined food and fashion in one place, especially in malls where people often go shopping. I thought that it would be convenient and enjoyable to have a store that offered both, along with an ambiance filled with motivational quotes and music. I also wanted to display some useful books that could feed the brains and souls of the customers.

That's how I came up with the idea of GooFFA, now GooFFABB, which stands for Good Foods, Fashion, and Accessories for the Body and Brain. I registered the business name in December 2020, and I wrote down my rationale, mission, vision, and objective for GooFFA.

The rationale was:

"Foods and fashion business today is on-trend, but the combination of both businesses does not, or if there exist, only one or two.

Many people, both men and women, look for food to eat after an exhausting shopping. They need something that can boost their body and brain. Most fashion stores keep away from food stores because of many reasons. They are tired but they have to walk two or more meters away to be able to sit and eat, especially in malls.

With that, the idea of putting foods and fashion items in one store which will have its radio station that plays motivational music and inspirational audio (motivational quotes)/audiobooks popped out. Useful books will be displayed too as food for the brain.

Depression/stress is the most life destroyer and all human beings can experience it. If not treated, individuals experiencing this dilemma may commit suicide or become mentally ill. Based on my experience, it's hard to battle depression especially when no one is there for you. To survive, I read, watch, and listen to different motivational books, videos, and audio or music.

That's how the idea was born."

The mission was:

"To become the source of energy for the body and mind (brain) of our clients every day by providing them good foods and fashion including an ambiance filled with motivational quotes and music."

The vision was:

"To become the greatest provider of good foods and fashion through our outlets worldwide and be the source of motivation/inspiration."

The objective was:

"To achieve 50% (or more) ROI in one year (or less) of operation."

However, starting a business was not easy. I had a limited budget and a busy schedule. I decided to try dropshipping as a way to sell products online without having to deal with inventory or shipping. I created a Shopify store and a Facebook page in January 2021, and I displayed products from Amazon and other Shopify partner online stores that matched the theme of GooFFABB.

Unfortunately, I couldn't afford the Shopify subscription and I didn't have enough time to manage the store. The subscription expired, and I almost gave up on my dream. But then something amazing happened.

In 2021, I noticed that the number of likes on my Facebook page started to increase, even though I didn't do any promotion or advertising. The number kept growing, and I realized that there were people who were interested in what I had to offer. They liked the concept of GooFFABB, and they wanted to see more.

This encouraged me to revive my business and to do better. I renewed my Shopify subscription, and I curated the products that I offered. I only chose those that spoke of the name and the purpose of GooFFABB. I also improved the design and the content of my shop and my page.

Now, I'm happy to say that GooFFABB is back and ready to serve you better with the help of some people.
